Led by the boisterous belting of singer Shannon Shaw, and backed by Cody Blanchard and Ian Amberson, Shannon and the Clams is a rowdy mix of girl group, surf rock, punk, and garage, all ripping and roaring out of Oakland and setting the Bay Area on fire. Over the course of several small releases, Shannon and the Clams have been doing things their way, as likely to swoon as to stomp, letting loose and hanging out. The group’s upcoming album, Sleep Talk, captures a gritty, retro feel that will inspire both dancing and daydreaming galore.
